Speaker
Terry K. Headley, President Elect
National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA)
“I am very honored and excited to be a Speaker at the fast-approaching National Healthcare Reform Conference on Monday, September 20th in Los Angeles---I will be addressing the New Health Insurance Law---and what it means for Consumers, as well as Insurance Agents/ Advisors. Given the complexity and sweeping changes in the new Law, it is imperative to be current on the various effective dates for the phased-in implementation of many provisions of the new Law, and additionally, how Agents/ Advisors will play a critical role in assisting consumers and employers navigate through the myriad of options and arrive at informed decisions relative to managing risks, remaining in compliance to meet the new requirements, and making the best health insurance choices.
I look forward to the opportunity to share my perspectives on this sweeping and comprehensive legislation and its impacts on the landscape of the health insurance industry---and how Agents/ Advisors are the essential link between the consumer and the insurance company.”
Speaker
Stuart Barton, President
American Seniors Association
"The 2010 National Health Care Reform Conference is just a step among many that government officials, industry leaders, experts, senior executives and others should take in educating Americans on the radical transformations that will soon take place within the realm of health care. My concern is the adverse effects the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act has on seniors and why it is important to voice their concerns for the future of America. From the 21.3% Medicare payment cuts, especially those phased-in to eliminate Medicare Advantage, a highly-praised alternative to traditional Medicare, to doctors turning Medicare patients down because of inadequate pay, it is evident that seniors have a reason to be concerned. Seniors among many have reached out to government officials emphasizing what it is they want and do not want, yet they continue to be ignored among these officials and policymakers in Washington. This simply must change if health care is ever going to bring better quality of life for all."
Speaker
Dr. Raymond Fabius, Chief Medical Officer

“I want to reach out to and tell you how excited I am to participate in the National Healthcare Reform Conference , September 20-22nd, 2010 in Los Angeles. This symposium will focus on the unprecedented changes that health care reform will produce over the next five years. With universal coverage, accelerating adoption of electronic medical records, actual and virtual accountable care organizations caring for whole populations, and the increasing importance of meaningful data analytics health care delivery will look very different soon. I encourage you to join us and attend this conference to get a jump on the competition."
Speaker
Dr. Robert Moffit, Senior Fellow
The Heritage Foundation
Senior Fellow in Domestic and Economic Policy Studies at The Heritage Foundation, Robert E. Moffit, Ph.D., is delighted to be participating in the National Healthcare Reform Conference in Los Angeles in September. "During a time of skyrocketing deficits and increasing encroachment on individual freedom from the federal government, it is extremely important to continue the national healthcare debate. Some of the negative consequences of the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) will affect not only doctors, seniors, and business owners, but every single American citizen. It will alter the relationship between the individual citizen and the federal government, and it will alter the relationship between the federal government and the states". From Moffit’s perspective," the debate on health care reform should continue; the current law should be scrapped in favor of a new approach that restores the traditional doctor-patient relationship, empowers individuals and families to make the key decisions over health care financing, health plans and benefits, and promotes bold health care reform experimentation at the state level. The National Healthcare Reform Conference will be an exceptional forum to discuss healthcare reform that allows for real individual choice and better quality of care."
Speaker
Devon Herrick, Senior Fellow
National Center on Policy Analysis (NCPA)
"The Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act will change the way many employees receive their coverage and affect the type of health plans workers are allowed to have. Many firms not currently offering coverage will face fines beginning in 2014, while some firms may find their plans do not meet new requirements. Conference attendees will learn about their obligations under the new law and how to navigate employers’ and employees’ options."
